Pregnancy Update: 20 Weeks
eating: I have been craving fruit through this whole entire pregnancy. It's about the only thing I have craved. I am kind of disappointed that I haven't had any weird off the wall cravings. Every time I go to the grocery store I come back with 80% fruit which makes me groan every time I check out (all the good stuff is expensive) but make me & baby happy.
drinking: Milk! That is about the weirdest thing that changed with my diet. I loathed milk before becoming pregnant but now I can't get enough of it, which is good! I have been seriously struggling with my water intake though through this entire pregnancy. I know it's important but the little peanut has been sitting on my bladder and I run to the bathroom enough as it is. Also it is extremely hard to take a drug test while pregnant, found that out the other day.
avoiding: Nothing really! There is nothing that I liked before that I'm not liking now.
wearing: I know a lot of woman try to avoid buying pregnancy clothes but I'm personally a big fan of maternity pants, they are way more comfy then wearing my regular jeans with a belly band and I still refuse to follow the trend of wearing leggings as pants. I seriously just can't do it. I have been mixing a lot of my regular cloths with my maternity clothes and I love dressing my bump! I have bought most of maternity clothes from Target because it's the only place in this town that I can find them. I have bought one of my favorite maternity dresses from Ebay and I've also have bought several shirts from PinkBlush Maternity which is a fantastic site for fashionable maternity wear and at a great price, especially when they have sales which they do very often!
feeling: Pretty great actually! During the beginning of my first trimester I was exhausted and was asleep by 7 every night and nauseated for maybe a couple of weeks (never threw up once, whoop!) and since the second trimester my energy has gone up and right now I'm feeling really well.
buying: Paint! Now that Aaron and I know what we are having I can start painting things! We aren't allowed to paint the walls but I can still paint furniture! Instead of buying a changing table we are using a dresser that will be perfect to hold baby items and we will be able to change our little peanut with ease. We also created Valentine cards the other day that will be sent out next week to reveal the gender! We are super excited to share the news with everyone!
sleeping: From day 1 I have had very vivid and very weird dreams! I wake up some mornings feeling exhausted because of them. I slept pretty good during the first trimester, I did have a couple of nights with no sleep from breaking down and consuming half a Coke too close to bed but other than that it hasn't been terrible. Lately I have been waking up a lot during the night and when I'm awake I can feel our little baby kicking so I'm just assuming that he or she is just preparing me for when they arrive! ;)
loving: I seriously love being pregnant! I love feeling every kick and finding new outfits to flatter my bump. I love creating our baby registries and finding cute little shoes and outfits. I went out running errands the other day and had two people ask how far along I was. It's exciting to get to the point in my pregnancy to finally look pregnant and not like I had too many donuts for breakfast. We had our second trimester ultrasound and I loved seeing our little one squirm and hearing the heartbeat.
getting used to: The idea of a little one running around calling me mom. Aaron and I are so excited but still nervous. I just want to be the best possible mom I can be and as much as I feel like I'm preparing for our little one I still feel like it's not enough.
